Planetary Intelligences and Faery Gods

A friend of mine who participates in the Anderson Faery Trad recently asked me what I had learned in my time of predominant seclusion these last few years..  here's some food for meditation for Faeries in relation to the idea that Faery "comes from the Stars":

The Peacock God:

"The form of Mercury, according to the opinion of another wise man, is
the form of a baron wearing a crown, riding on a peacock, in his right
hand a reed pen and in his left hand a [sheet of paper/book] and his
clothes are many colors mixed. And this is its form."

Picatrix Bk II, ch. 10. (Translation by Christopher Warnock, Esq.)

The Horned God of prosperity:

"They made also another Image of Jupiter for a religious and glorious
life, and advancement of fortune; whose figure was a man having the
head of a Lyon, or a Ram, and Eagles feet, cloathed in Saffron
coloured cloathes, and he was called the son of Jupiter."

Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk II, ch. 39

The Goddess and her Twins:

http://www.renaissanceastrology.com/images/venus-winged-posterlarge.jpg

"From the form of Venus make the image of a seated woman with wings
with her hair braided behind [her back] with two braids with two boys
in her lap..."

Picatrix Bk II, ch. 10 (Translation by Christopher Warnock, Esq.)"

The darker Horned God of winter and time:

"For they made, from the operations of Saturn, Saturn ascending in a
stone, which is called the Loadstone, the Image of a man, having the
countenance of an Hart, and Camels seet and sitting upon a Chayr or
Dragon, holding in his right hand, a sithe, in his left hand a dart;
which image they did hope would be profitable for prolongation of
life"

Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk II, ch. 38

Sun in 19 Aries invocation

Took advantage of today's election of Sun in Aries 19, his exhaltation, this morning at sunrise. I used invocations from Picatrix and consecrated some rose oil per instructions you can read here.

I also used the Orphic Hymn of the Sun.

The invocations generated some insight into the Sun and I'm not ready to blog about it yet, but may later on. But in brief it occurred to me that to fulfill what is asked in the oration used to consecrate the oil that Gold attracts Gold, like the Pantaur attracts precious gems. If the nature of the Sun is manifest in me then these things will happen naturally.

Talisman Images

Today at 1:09 PM is an excellent election for making Talismans of Vega.. ( http://renaissanceastrology.com/chartweek.html).. here are some images that can be used to make such a talisman, as Chris says on his page:

Cornelius Agrippa says that for the talisman of Vega,"they made the image of a Vulture or Hen, or of a traveller; it maketh a man magnanimous and proud, it giveth power over devils and beasts."

These can be used for your own personal use, but not resold or used for commercial purposes.

Enjoy!

Re: Power

From my journal:

24 April 2000

Often when people speak of having power they are speaking of having an ability to produce fear in others and coerce them to one's will. This can be by means of either  threat of pain or by a promise to remove pain if only we accede to the tyrant's wishes. So power has come to be associated with having the privelege of administering these systems of reward and punishment.

This sort of power is weak, as it is totally dependent on having others to reward or punish. It depends on the enslaved parties not realising the meaning of true personal power: the ability to choose and to act. To act on behalf of one's own principles and values regardless of external promises or boon or bane from others.
